The Kickoff!

2007 was the year of movies.
2008 was the year of weight loss.
2009 was the year of personal (r)evolution.
2010 was the year of adventure, Asia, Chuck Taylors, and belts.

2011, my friends, is the year of the concert. Oh, and buying a house. But more importantly, concerts.

The new year officially kicks off tomorrow night, as my dear Lady Gaga rolls into the District. I'm beyond excited and have been eagerly waiting for the big night since I bought the tickets last July (as a really early birthday present to myself.) Heck, I've even been planning my outfit for the concert for the past two months. It will unquestionably be a fun, albeit ridiculous and scary, show. Can't wait (to go crazy)!

And then, we'll hardly miss a beat (pun), as we'll be rocking out to Bon Jovi on Sunday night. They put on a fantastic show and one of the coolest experiences of my life was seeing them play "Livin' on a Prayer" live here in D.C. back in early 2008. The entire Verizon Center was literally shaking. A little scary, but totally awesome. I'm also super excited to rock out with a bunch of friends from church during the show. Rock on, church folk, rock on.

My heart is warmed by the happy thought that just a mere two weeks later, my beloved Sir Elton John will be coming to "town" (Baltimore, but close enough.) We'll be making it a fun Baltimore/Maryland weekend with a few friends, so yea, that's going to be awesome.

And then only a few months later, the "legendary" Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block will be taking over D.C., together, for one very special night. Yep, absolutely stoked about that one too.

Thus, in a handful of months, we'll be rocking out at more concerts than we've been to in the past 4-5 years combined (Backstreet Boys in 2010; Britney in 2009; Bon Jovi in 2008; Keith Urban in 2007; Toby Keith in 2006). Sadly, since my beloved Katy Perry's "D.C." show is in Columbia, MD at 7:30pm on a Wednesday, just like the 2009 Fray show, I'll have to pass on that hotness. Maybe next time, love.

PS-can someone PLEASE convince Mick and Keith to do ONE last tour? Please.
