Holding Up

Not-so-slowly, but surely, I'm bringing the funk to my "grownup" wardrobe. If I'm going to spend 55+ hours in my work clothes each week, I might as well have a little fun, right? Plus, kind of like that dude Amanda has a crush on in "Bones," this is my little rebellion and streak of individuality in the serious adult world.

Pants? Been there. Socks. All over that flamboyance. Shoes? Props to DSW and Nordstrom Rack for your awesomeness. Ties? Both Justin Timberlake and Don Draper would be jealous of my skinny tie collection. (seriously, this is the second-best (See Bonobos for #1) clothing website EVER.) Pocket squares? I actually like to keep things plain, simple, and white. Shirts? Vietnam helped a lot, but I've still got some work to do.

But in 2010, the new mini-obsession was belts. Lots and lots of belts.

It started with an $8 black belt bought in Cambodia, complete with a semi-working ridiculously awesome silver buckle. From there, a sweet red and blue $10 belt from Aeropostale (I'm probably the only person over the age of 18 that owns something from there.) And then things just got out of hand, especially after some out-of-control Bonobos savings courtesy of Living Social. So will you ever see me in a blue dress shirt, khakis, and a plain brown belt? Nope. In the middle of all that "typical" fashion fare, you'll find these...

Best. Belt. Ever.
(...and hand-painted in DC too! Props to Amanda for this awesome Christmas gift!)
